I decided to give this one a whirl secondary to the recent d'Arenberg hype. Approximately 50/50 blend of Shiraz and Grenache. A nice peppery nose with hint of blackberry. Nice body with noticable acidity and alcohol. The oak is under control. Not the kind of abundant fruit you would expect for a ripe year like '98. Finish was a bit short. Overall, the wine was a bit flat for me. Perhaps it was the bottle. Not a wine I will rush out and buy. Good. 88 points.
