Deep red/purple color. No signs of lightening on the rim. Aromas of young Bordeaux with a touch more earthiness/soil than expected. Wood but not oak is detectable. Overall, a rustic mouthfeel and taste. Still quite tannic on the palate but there is enough fruit in the middle. After a few hours this wine was much better. This wine is just too young to get a handle on now. I suspect it will turn the corner someday.
