This wine ($40) was decanted into an Ultra Magnum decanter for 1 hour at the recommendation of a friend. A nose of red fruit and lead pencil. Deep, rich balanced and complex on the palate, this wine just kept going. Unmistakably Italian, the wine was striking because of it's acidic mouthfeel and was really hard to drink without food. Nevertheless, this is a serious food wine and one that is worth giving a try. The development in the decanter was impressive and it was still improving at hour 3.
