1998 Rene Leclerc Bourgogne Rouge. $17. Reluctant nose of red fruit and flowers that became more expressive with warming. Medium-bodied and primary in the mouth. Red fruit with some pear. Decent length. The texture of this wine is somewhat choppy with dry tannins and it does not flow over the palate with great finesse which I suspect is a fault of the vintage. Still a good wine for the money.
