| ‘99 Torbrek The Steading. As much as I love the ‘98, I like the ‘99 better. What it lacks in fruit concentration it makes up in terrior. This wine tastes more earthy and ‘old-world’ to me than the ‘98 version. Great nose which is very Rhone-like. Plush and expansive midsection of dark fruit, coffee and licorice. This wine was not scored as well as the ‘98 so go figure. At least that means it will be around. (Cross-Posted). Tasted 7/4/01. |
