I grabbed this the other day at Sam's at the recommendation of David (the Burgundophile). This is apparently a new producer. The bottle is shaped like a champagne bottle with a huge boot in the bottom. The folks over at Sam's are really high on this producer as well.

Dense nose of white fruit, citrus, mineral water and a touch of alcohol. On the palate the wine was thick - almost heavy with plenty of chardonnay fruit and some noticable oak. The finish was about 20 seconds and I did detect a bit of heat at the end initally. My first impression was one of a new-world style. Verget jumped into my mind. My wife thought it was a Calfornia Chardonnay. The wine was uncorked at cellar temperature and was a bit cold so I decided to wait. Perhaps I started too cold.

After about an hour the wine settled down and lost some of the palate weight. I also think the oak took a back seat and now I felt like I was drinking White Burgundy. The wine became more elegant and less heavy-handed. It went well with garlic-crusted salmon fillets, sweet potataoe and steamed brussel sprouts. I can't say that I loved this wine but it was definitely better with time. I am also allergic (just kidding) to oak and that could be part of my bias

Comments on this producer appreciated. (Cross Posted).
